DAS SYSTEM is the name of the four-part cycle staged by author and director Falk Richter at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin in the 2003/04 season. The aim of this experimental arrangement was to describe “our way of life”, focussing on the media, the economy, terror and war.

This volume documents the working process on DAS SYSTEM 2 – UNTER EIS. With the publication of the different versions of the text, Falk Richter’s research material, interviews with the artists involved, a sound recording of the production as well as photo series by Arno Declair, Jan Pappelbaum and Martin Rottenkolber and much more, it offers a multifaceted and precise insight into the development of a theatre production that normally takes place in secret.
