For a better world

PREMIERE 04/10/2003
Schauspielhaus Zürich

They all once had a more carefree past. But at some point, it seems to have been erased—lingering like a distant, muffled light over the everyday, over the war. Why the war is being fought has long ceased to matter. Lost objectives in Africa. Soldiers, forgotten in the jungle. Unreality spreads; belief in the supernatural entwines with reason. The archaic thrives in the isolation of the soldier’s existence. Misguided kilts form the foundation of a new identity. Things happen that can no longer be explained. Horror takes hold, fear becomes nearly impossible to numb. And eventually, it’s everyone for themselves. Water grows scarce, and the struggle regains its purpose. There is no need for an enemy—your friend will do. War persists as a constant. Eternal. For a better world.
